Hi, my name is Heidi and I’m a Fairview pharmacist and still be talking about the Twisthaler.
The Twisthaler has two parts: the cap and the base. As soon as you remove
the cap from the inhaler the dose is ready to be
used. So be sure that once you remove the cap that the inhaler stays upright. As you remove
the cap you hear click you see that the dose
counter moves down by one. Make sure that after you remove the cap you don’t shake the inhaler at all. To
get ready for the dose, let all of the air out of your lungs as is comfortable
Then you tip the inhaler to your mouth. You inhale as
quickly and deeply as possible and then you’re going to hold the
breath for about 10 seconds. Make sure that while inhaling you are not blocking any
of the holes on the sides or on the bottom. After you’re done using inhale,r you can
put the cap back on. Make sure the cap snaps in place to ensure you get the right dose the next
time you use the inhaler. If you have any more questions about your Twisthaler, please contact your provider or
pharmacist. Thank you.
