When I was diagnosed, I was pretty much a deer in headlights. But over time, I think I started looking for more knowledge, I became aware of the Bonnie J Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. Knowing that through genomic testing they can find what is causing my cancer to grow was very comforting. When I was initially diagnosed, the test did show EGFR positive. While I was on chemo was when the first targeted therapy drug was approved for EGFR. A targeted therapy drug is very different from chemo, the one I’m on now there are minimal side effects. I take the one pill every night, and that’s it. I look forward to every day. I’m feeling as well as I have since I was diagnosed four years ago. I’m active and doing everything I want to do.
